Save a life. Adopt from a shelter.

The Frontier Animal Society (FAS)

The Frontier Animal Society is a no kill shelter and animal sanctuary that has been in operation for over 20 years. We are located in Ogden Quebec just a few minutes from the Vermont border. We are about 1.5 hours from Montreal, 45 minutes from Sherbrooke and 2 hours from Burlington. The shelter is currently home to about 40 dogs and over 40 cats.

Our shelter provides a safe and caring environment for our adoptable dogs and cats while they await their forever home, while our sanctuary provides long-term care for those animals that, due to their age or other issues, are likely to spend their remaining years in our care.

All of our animals are neutered/spayed, up-to-date with routine shots. Dogs are also vaccinated for kennel cough and cats are tested for feline leukemia and FIV. All dogs are microchipped prior to leaving with their adoptive family.

Our shelter is a non-profit organization. All donations of $10.00 or more are tax deductible.

Dog of the Month

We have so many great dogs at our shelter and every month we will hilight one that we believe deserves a little extra attention.

Meet Athena. Athena is a 5 year old American bulldog that loves her people friends. She isn't, however, quite so keen on her canine cohorts so it is best if she be adopted into a home without other dogs. We try very hard to make sure all of our animals get the attention they need but for dogs like Athena, who must be kept separated from our other dogs, life in the shelter can be a little lonely. If you like this breed Athena won't disappoint. She is calm and quiet and great with kids too. Although we don't tend to think of these dogs as being big swimmers, Athena's absolute favourite thing to do is to run and play in the water. Given the chance she will do it for hours. Please give Athena a chance to live in a home of her own with a family that loves her.
