The Frontier Animal Society (FAS)
The Frontier Animal Society is a no kill shelter and animal sanctuary that has been in operation for over 20 years. We are located in Ogden Quebec just a few minutes from the Vermont border. We are about 1.5 hours from Montreal, 45 minutes from Sherbrooke and 2 hours from Burlington. The shelter is currently home to about 40 dogs and over 40 cats.
Our shelter provides a safe and caring environment for our adoptable dogs and cats while they await their forever home, while our sanctuary provides long-term care for those animals that, due to their age or other issues, are likely to spend their remaining years in our care.
All of our animals are neutered/spayed, up-to-date with routine shots. Dogs are also vaccinated for kennel cough and cats are tested for feline leukemia and FIV. All dogs are microchipped prior to leaving with their adoptive family.
Our shelter is a non-profit organization. All donations of $10.00 or more are tax deductible.
Featured Dog
We have so many great dogs at our shelter but some, like Blair, have been here a little too long and we feel deserve a little extra attention.
Blair is a shepherd black lab mix who has been at the shelter far too long. We have not received one single inquiry on this sweet boy and we really can't understand why. Although a little grey in the muzzle, he is only 4 or 5. Blair was dropped off at our shelter when he was about 2.5 years old. Apparently his owner just couldn't be bothered with him anymore. Good thing though because it was a crappy home! Blair is terrific on the leash and loves going for long walks. He is really good with people but can be a little “macho” with other dogs. Probably not an ideal candidate for a dog park. We certainly don’t rule out a home with another dog but they would have to meet to make sure they get along. Blair loves his treats and deserves to know what it is like to live in a home where he is treasured and will never again be “thrown away” like a worthless piece of trash. He is a good boy and we really hope you can be the one to give him the chance to enjoy the rest of his life happy and in a loving home.
